American Reformed Mafia
American Reformed Mafia
All right, Communists. You called down the thunder, well, now you've got it!
We’re so back.
July 18, 2007. The inaugural post of the Conservative Reformed Mafia. A group blog of seminary students and grads, pastors, college professors, and message board shit-posters (we didn’t call it that back then). My brothers and I were active on an emerging church message board in the early 00’s and we were a distinct minority, theologically and politically. Fed up, someone finally posted, “This was a great place until the conservative reformed mafia showed up.” And our based little blog was born. One popular blogger at the time even named us the Best New Blog of 2007. And no one can ever take that away from us.
Now.
I haven’t been regularly writing for the past five years. I was heavily involved with a local church plant and wanted to clear my plate. I should have kept writing too. In the meantime, all the energy now seems to be behind podcasts but I enjoy writing and I still love old school blogs. They’re fun. And I had the most fun with CRM. So I’m bringing it back.
American.
Why replace “Conservative” with “American?” The “liberty” movement is broader than “conservative.” And what is conservatism anymore? What are we conserving? As have often been said, we are merely conserving the leftist victories of the last decade. I love liberty and hate wokeism and communism. In other words, I’m American. And, yeah, America is more than an idea. It’s a people and a place. We are in the midst of a Marxist, communist takeover of our country and are probably one or two elections away from losing America forever. Let’s unite as Americans, defeat the Marxists, save our country, and argue about the fine points of conservatism and libertarianism later.
The correct answer is “Paleo.”
Reformed.
When you look up “Truly Reformed,” you’ll find my picture. Because I’m one of those Reformed Baptists. I say this knowing full well some guys let their heads explode over all this.
While I was at Dallas Seminary, my Pappy warned me, “Watch out, I hear there’s a lot of those Calvinists down there.” I didn’t have the heart to tell him right then that I was putting the finishing touches on my five-point Calvinism together with laying aside the Dispensationalism of my youth (I didn’t know it was called that).
Funny story: One of our assignments in the Bible Exposition class I was taking, Acts & Epistles, was to choose a theologian who is known for a particular position and argue against it. I chose John C. Walvoord, very longtime professor and President at DTS, and argued against the pre-trib rapture. My professor was gracious and wrote on my paper, “You do know where you go to school, don’t you?” It was a running joke among my friends that so many of us were moving away from Dispensationalism while at Dallas Seminary.
I love Jesus and his Word therefore I’m Reformed and not Pelagian. And I’m not a fan of Big Eva, Regimevangelicals, and the Gospel Industrial Complex and many of these posts will be directed in their direction.
The times.
We are beyond cancel culture. “They” are demonetizing us, indefinitely detaining us as political prisoners, trying to trans our kids against our will and without our knowledge, attempting assassinations and coups, and burning down our churches.
So they don’t care about your winsomeness, your Third Way-ist above-the-fray jui-jitsu, or your accommodationism.
Stop caring what they call you. Christ is King. Stand up. Speak out. Speak the truth. Act. That’s neighbor-love.

“All right. Let’s finish it.”
What’s one more little account on X, Instagram, Facebook, and Substack gonna do? We’re going to speak the truth in the face of so many lies. We’re not going to self-censor. We’re going to add our little voice to the voices of our many allies. We’re not going to be silent in the face of an attempted anti-Christ communist takeover of the nation we love. Because we love our neighbors. And we’re gonna have fun doing it. Subscribe below and join us in the charge!
Message me if you would like to be a writer with American Reformed Mafia.
Wyatt: All right. Let’s finish it.
Doc: Indeed, sir. The last charge of Wyatt Earp and his immortals.
